The entire album was recorded in the piano recital hall at the University of Kentucky Singletary Center for the Arts, a venue designed specifically for the solo piano performances over a period of two weeks.
The performances were captured live from beginning to end, with no editing performed.
The 9 foot Steinway Grand piano was captured direct to digital tape using Neumann and AKG microphones. No artificial equalization or other processing was performed.
This album sounds particularly good on audiophile systems, and stunning on Magneplanar speakers.

Tree of Life Music has spared no expense in making these exquisite compositions available to the public. The album was recorded entirely at the piano recital hall in the Singletary Center for the Arts at the University of Kentucky. This facility was designed specifically for the performance of acoustic music and is noted for its superlative sound qualities. A nine foot Steinway concert grand piano was used exclusively. The music was recorded direct to digital stereo tape with no artificial processing of any kind. The album was mastered at Disc Mastering in Nashville, Tennessee, the same facility which masters many of Narada's works and a significant portion of other adult contemporary releases.
The album opens with "Song for Kindred Spirits", a short ode to lasting friendship. As the album progresses the listener is introduced to more intricate pieces such as "Dawn", "Bridget's Song" and "Snowmelt", in which Bill unleashes his unique improvisational style to fully describe the feelings behind his music. "Time Has Come" is an example of the magic which can occur when all elements seem to come together in harmony. Recorded in one take, this piece did not exist prior to the recording sessions, and is an example of pure improvisation at its best. "Scarborough Fair" is a solo piano adaptation of the classic English folk song which Simon and Garfunkel made popular in the 1960's.
The inspired performance and attention to detail has yielded a singular listening experience which reflects the philosophy of the artist: SINCE FEELING IS FIRST.
